To build an underground communication system, reinforced concrete rings are most often used. Most commonly, the structure's form is made from a concrete mixture, the composition of which is produced using crushed stone of various fractions, sand, and chemical additives. To give the finished product strength, the rings are typically reinforced with metal. This approach also imparts resistance to tension and compression, water impermeability, and durability to the product. To ensure complete sealing of the ring, it is, of course, also necessary to use other additional waterproofing materials.
The main advantage of using a concrete mixture when creating a well ring is its durability. Let us look at how to make a mold for reinforced concrete rings yourself.

Technology of manufacturing reinforced concrete rings
To manufacture a reinforced concrete well ring, you must first take care of having the most important equipment—an automatic vibromold. Thanks to this equipment, we can achieve the highest density of the liquid mixture. The operating process of the equipment is simple: through vibrations during pouring into the mold, the mixture is compacted. This increases the waterproof and frost-resistant characteristics of the product, and reduces the amount of air (even bringing it to zero). It is difficult to answer how much a precast concrete ring weighs; depending on the intended dimensions, the weight of the rings can range from 0.5 to 2.5 tons. Therefore, the production of precast concrete rings also requires having a lifting mechanism in your arsenal for further transportation and installation of the structure.
The composition for manufacturing reinforced concrete well rings can vary, but usually, the mixture consists of:
- coarse sand;
- crushed stone (preferably a fine fraction);
- technical water;
- superplasticizer;
- cement (preferably a high grade).
To improve the quality of the reinforced concrete well ring, you can use sand (strictly without lumps and impurities). All of this mixture must be brought to homogeneity; a concrete mixer is most often used for this purpose. To reinforce the product, metal wire up to 12 mm can be used.
It is important to position the metal frame correctly—it should be located in the vibromold so that 2 or 4 rods clearly extend beyond the formwork, thereby acting as lifting lugs. These so-called "lugs" allow you to hook onto lifting equipment and pull the ring out of the mold. After the entire concrete mixture is poured into the mold, it is necessary to wait a day to allow the product to dry well. But do not rush to use the structure immediately; after you take it out of the mold, you need to place it in a dry room for another month so that the concrete product dries completely.
Making a reinforced concrete ring with your own hands is not difficult, as long as you have all the necessary equipment at hand. In our store, you can always find the necessary molds for reinforced concrete rings, as well as plastic parking half-sphere molds.
